Most glamorous trek in Himalayas ‘Chadar Trek’ is like a pilgrimage for an adventurous trekker. Zanskar River becomes ‘Chadar’ a sheet of white ice on which you can get most amazing walking experience. Chadar Trek is comparatively less difficult than other high altitude’s climbing but needs high-level preparation.

Duration and best timings for Chadar Trek
Mid-January to Mid-February is the best time for this trek. Trekking duration is 9 days.

Desired fitness level
chadar lake trek doesn’t have high climbing like most other mountain treks, but it requires good regular physical exercise to have rough trekking on high altitudes (on ice blanket).

Fulfillment of required dietary needs of Trekker
As high level of stamina and spirit is required dietary needs of all the trekkers are properly fulfilled.

Accommodation and other facilities
At the start of 9 day’s trekking trip when you are on land good accommodation will be provided. On main trekking area, tents will be set only on safe land. You have to carry sleeping bag to beat the freezing temperature. According to the conditions and circumstances, toilet tent will be provided.

Suitable clothing for Chadar Trek
You should carry multiple numbers of sweaters and warmers, fleece jacket and a windcheater. Always wear layers so that you can adjust according to the continuous changing weather.

Shoes for Chadar Trek
For Chadar Trek you should carry high-quality gumboots, which are the ideal for wetter areas. You should also carry one pair of cushioned, ankle protected waterproof shoes, as can be used while the gumboots get soaked. If you are not an ardent trekker you need not buy trekking gears, however, you can get them for rent from Leh market. In case of any emergency your guide is well equipped to give you first aid. To avoid any inconvenience or harm, you should promptly follow your guide. Your safety is our priority in any case.
